this was a weird show. the attached videos are from the same tour, but i didn't get to see him jam with anybody as cool as feu therese. captain obvious has just informed me that ottawa has a much less interesting music scene than montreal. so...yeah...
see, what he did on this tour was jam with whomever was willing. in montreal, he got feu therese. in ottawa, we got, i think, a hobby saxophone player and a homeless guy. i might have brought my guitar, if i had a concept of what the format was, ahead of time.
i think we were all just in awe to see the guy. he could have recited 'hop on pop' and we would have been content. but, i can't claim the show i saw was memorable or exciting in any meaningful way.
